Indian Black

Indian Black granite has formed through a process of crystallisation of an original liquid molten rock solution (Magma). The resulting wide range of mineral types, their structures, colours, shapes, sizes and distribution. Which works extremely well in modern kitchens with sleek lines and a minimal look. Dramatic contrasts can be created using gloss kitchen cabinets. Pure black worktops seem to be paired especially with white, black, red or the slightly softer cream shown below. Contrasted with stainless steel appliances and accessories black worktops really give a kitchen a striking showhouse feel. Pure black granite shines like a mirror, the reflective properties under lights are breathtaking.

Over the past few decades, granite has been the material of choice for residential homes as it is able to offer the true beauty of natural stone with its unique and often exotic looks, along with durability, strength and longevity. It is also sure to add value to any property in which it is installed. As there is very little calcium present in granite, it does not etch in the way that marble is prone to when exposed to high levels of acidity, such as that present in lemons, oranges and other acidic foods.

Slabs of Indian Black granite comes in polished, anticato, leathered or honed finishes.

POLISHED
Without a doubt, the glossiest and smoothest finish, highlighting the colours, patterns, and white spots. Dark shades create a mirror effect.

ANTICATO
Although this semi-coarse finish is somewhat coarser than a matte or polished finish, it still feels very soft. The non-slip result still had a beautiful satin shine to it.

HONED
The surface is sanded until warm, matte shine is obtained. The grain size during the sanding determines the final result.

LEATHERED
A finish the is smooth to the touch, characterised by a slightly wavy appearance reminiscent of the texture of leather. The final brushing makes the surface extremely soft and pleasant.

For granite, 20mm and 30mm thicknesses are the most popular, with 30mm suiting the more traditional, country style kitchens and 20mm better paired with contemporary kitchen stylings. Its large slab sizes make it ideal for kitchen islands and large surface areas where it can be installed seamlessly.
